National Blitz Report 15 October 2011

The mums' footballers travelled to the Naomh Mearnogh Gaelic Club Portmarnock County Dublin last Saturday to take part in the National Blitz.

Due to the success of the club's G4M initiative we were able to field 2 teams. Each team had 4 games and both teams put in great performances.

Before leaving Saval a Survival Pack G4M was presented to the team by Mags McDermott, the classy midfielder was unable to travel.

The Survival Pack G4M contained the following

  • Shower Cap:keep Anthony's hair dry
  • Spare Battery - if running low
  • First Aid - Shelia !
  • Clips - any stray hairs
  • Wooden spoon - motivational tool
  • Nutritional treats
  • Hand Cream
  • Sick Bag

After the Blitz the team stopped off at the Carrickdale Hotel for food and light refreshments. With the meal over the players were treated to a poem on what it means to play football for the mums by our team captain Imelda Fearon.

On behalf of Saval's G4M football team I would like to thank the following; The Ladies Gaelic Football Association and host club Naomh Mearnough for a well organised Blitz. Martin Donnelly of MD Coaches for a reliable and friendly transport service. Last but not least Saval GAC for their encouragement.
