On Thursday 24th February 2011, a selection of primary school teachers were playing the role of pupils as they they completed the GAA Introductory Award Training. The workshop was delivered by Down and Ulster GAA Coaches Ciaran Murtagh, Macartan McKenna and Garreth Thornton. The session took place in Saval GAC. The morning comprised of a series of presentation and group activities as the teachers were educated in the basics and Physical literacy and Gaelic games. Following a light lunch, the afternoon saw the teahers getting active as they delivered practical coaching sessions to the other members of the group. The aim of the day was to better equip primary school teachers to deliver gaelic games within their schools. The teachers were extremely enthusiatic and attentive throughout. Many thanks to the tutors and teachers who contributed to a most enjoyable day. A special thanks must also go to Saval Club for providing excellent indoor and outdoor facilities.
