Saval  v Ballymartin

Ballymartin were the visitors to Nan Sans Park last Saturday afternoon. In a highly entertaining game of football it was the liliwhites that went home with the points. The game was played in the right spirit with both teams showing commitment and loads of skill. At the end of the game there were smiles from both sets of players which is what it is all about. Saval had good performances throughout the team notably Katie Byrne who played in an unaccustomed role for her at left half back. Katie was back at her brilliant best and was a willing outlet for our keeper Ciara McCarthy who was excellent. Defenders Aoife McCarthy and Tiarna Kerr continue to show their undoubted class. Meibh Byrne and Leanne Fearon worked hard at midfield with the latter putting in numerous blocks. Up front the youn uns Fianna McAloon, Niamh Fallon, Aine McParland and Aiobhean OHare worked tirelessly and will be stars of the future. Saval's outstanding player was Hannah Magee who showed all that is expected of a top player;her reading of the game and distribution was excellent. We thank Ballymartin for a very sporting game and referee Dessie Turley.
