Saval V Kilcoo

Sat 2nd Oct @ 4pm

Kilcoo travelled to Saval on Saturday 1st October and cemented their position at the top of the table to go straight into the league final against either Mayobridge or Burren. The teams were met with poor conditions. Three points in the opening three minutes from Kilcoo’s Paul Devlin and Barry Kane set the tone for the first half. Kilcoo seemed to be in complete control of the game. Just when Saval supporters thought their team might go through the entire first half without scoring, Danny Hughes came off the bench to score a goal and a point which left the half time score, Saval 1-1, Kilcoo 0-8. The second half was more evenly contested. Saval looked like a team that could upset Kilcoo for a second time this season. However, a Barry Kane goal with six minutes remaining, ensured Kilcoo went home with the points.
