Under-16 Girls Report

posted Aug 16, 2012, 9:20 AM by Saval Gac

With two wins and two defeats behind them, this season has been a mixed bag this year but the Saval girls produced a great win against Teconnaught in Saval on Sunday past. A hat-trick of goals in the first half from Leah Lennon (2) and Under-12 player Aiobhean O’Hare set the scene as the Saval girls dominated throughout. There was a wonderful display of tackling and blocking from both sides but Saval were always going to run out winners and finished on a scoreline of 4-12 to four points, getting revenge on the defeat in Teconnaught earlier in the summer. It would be unfair to single any player out as playing well as the girls all played as a team from Aiobhean in goals right up to the forward line, who all got on the score sheet.

Team: Aiobhean McCarthy, Ruth Havern, Aisling Clarke, Aoife McCarthy, Louisa Dillon, Hannah Magee, Rachel O’Hare (0-2), Raychel McEvoy, Eve Hughes (0-1), Meibh Byrne (0-3), Sinead O’Hare (0-3), Aoibhean O’Hare (1-1), Leah Lennon (3-1), Ciara McCarthy (0-1).

Training continues every Wednesday night for girls 7-8pm.
